The durability of the gold plating will highly depend on the wearer's care.
To take care of the gold plated sterling silver jewellery and maximise the durability of the gold finish:
- avoid contact with water, soaps, perfumes, lotions and other similar chemical products
- avoid wearing this jewellery during physical activity
- keep the pieces in an air-tight place when not wearing the jewellery
- avoid polishing with chemicals; to increase their shine, brush them gently with a soft cloth.
Please note that with proper care the gold plating can last a couple of years, however wearing this product on a daily basis will cause the gold finish to wear off more rapidly.
If the gold plating wears off, you can have it replated upon request.
Pearls:
Jewellery pieces that include pearls are not suitable for everyday wear as pearls are generally very delicate. This natural gem is more susceptible to pressure or abrasion, which is difficult to prevent when worn continuously. Chemicals like perfume, hairspray, vinegar and lemon juice or bleach can easily damage pearls and should not come in contact with them. Heat can turn pearls brown, dry air can damage pearls.
