The Moon Eclipse necklace features two elements from ruthenium-plated silver with a polished finish on a delicate cotton string. The durability of the ruthenium plating will highly depend on the wearer's care.
To take care of plated sterling silver jewellery and maximise the durability of the plated finish:
- avoid contact with water, soaps, perfumes, lotions and other similar chemical products
- avoid wearing this jewellery during physical activity
- keep the pieces in an air-tight place when not wearing the jewellery
- avoid polishing with chemicals; to increase their shine, brush them gently with a soft cloth.
Please note that with proper care the plating can last a couple of years, however wearing this product on a daily basis will cause the gold finish to wear off more rapidly.
If the ruthenium plating wears off, you can have it replated upon request.
